When the moon starts to shine as two planets align, that's amore

For those of you who wake up early enough (or go to sleep late enough), take a look at the southeast sky on Monday morning. Less than an hour before sunrise, the moon will form an isosceles triangle with Venus and Jupiter. As the brightest objects in the sky, they'll be hard to miss with a clear view. Here's an illustration:



The next conjunction between Venus and Jupiter will occur in 10 months, as they meet again like a double-planet in the evening sky on December 1. After this fall, the planets won't come as close for another two and a half years.
