Spy Satellite Destroyed

On Feb. 20th the U.S. Navy launched a missile that destroyed a malfunctioning spy satellite. The satellite contained about a thousand pounds of hydrazine, a hazardous fule that if let into the earth's atmosphere could be dangerous. The article didn't say exactly why the satellite was "non-functioning" or where it came from but it's still pretty interesting...It did, however, call it a "National Reconnaissance Office" satellite...what does this mean?
