New Technology

There is a new poweful camera being worked on by scientists called HiRISE that is supposed to be the most powerful camera to ever orbit a planet. The camera HiRISE is currently circling Mars at about 7500 mph and taking extremely detailed photographs of Mars' surface. This camera is pretty cool because it's allowing scientists to see geographical detail that they couldn't see before. This access to more complex information is giving scientists even more to think about. For instance, one regarding Mars' surface is whether current winds on Mars are strong enough to change geological features, or whether wind-created formations were made in the past. With the help of HiRISE, scientists can get a much closer look at the different layers of dust and sand and their contents. From this information, they can begin to answer some questions regarding characteristics of Mars such as age, as well as discover characteristics that create new questions. Neato!
