The coldest known stellar object was found by an international astronomy team when they discovered a brown dwarf with a temperature of approx. 350 degrees C. It was found using telescopes from around the world, including Hawaii and Chile. The star was named CFBDS J005910.83-011401.3 and and it is about 40 light-years away from our solar system.
